After a cold, wet, stormy Spring, the hot, sunny Summer days we look forward came a little late this year. Early summer fishing was steady, albeit in much less than ideal weather conditions. But the weather and fishing sure heated up in August with good catches of Chinook, coho and even the odd sockeye salmon in temperatures which might have had you beleiving you were fishing in Mexico! This, combined with the welcome, post-Covid surge of visitors back to Vancouver made for a hectic month, with one or two charters going out every day the weather would allow! The early September outlook for continued good weather has anticipations set on high, as the Chinook salmon fishing restirictions open up everywhere in our local area on September 1st, and this is the time of year when the really big fish roll through. So grab a bottle of sunscreen, and let’s go fishing!
